Who does your electrician work for?

May 28, 2013 - By timlaight

Searching for a local electrician or electrical contractor in a Google or Yell search engine can show an overwhelming number of options. But the real issue is determining just how local these “local electricians” actually are?

A closer look shows that some of these companies are masquerading as your friendly local electrician but in fact a good number are in fact clearing-houses who are using sub-contract labour, and in some cases they are claiming the qualifications of those sub-contractors as their own. Our governing body the NICEIC takes a dim view of such practices and pursues the misuse of the NICEIC logo most diligently.

These companies take your enquiry, quote you an hourly rate and then phone around their list of sub-contractors to find who might do the job. Whilst we are not suggesting that there is anything illegal in conducting business in this fashion it occurs to us that such practice is not wholly transparent as far as the customer is concerned.

If you do business with Sky Electrical Ltd you can be confident that you are dealing with a long-established family business who has its own offices and who only uses directly-employed qualified electricians, some of whom who were originally taken on as apprentices and have been here ever since.

Finally, our rates and terms of business are completely transparent and subject to any scrutiny.  We have full accreditation with the NICEIC and Constructionline which proves our bona fides.

With Sky Electrical, what you see is what you get.
