Landlord Testing

October 11, 2012 - By davidhogben

When it comes to landlord testing every landlord must be so confused as to what Health and Safety legislation he has to comply with when letting a property with regard to the existing confusing Electrical Regulations. The purpose of this blog is to try to give those landlords some common sense advice on landlord testing . If you are renting a property you have a duty of care toward your tenant. However if the worst happened and someone was injured in your property you will probably land up in court and sadly that is the nature of the world we all live in. In other words whatever happened “it’s always someone else’s fault”. How do we get over this? My advice who be to get your electrical installationchecked and certified by a competent NICEIC registered electrician and act on any of the advice produced in that certificate. In a court of law you have then satisfied that duty of care, because even if there was an accident you have acted on best advice and to the best of your knowledge you have demonstrated that you have done everything possible to ensure your property was safe. Now that’s a nice feeling to have isn’t it and probably worth the relatively small cost of a certificate? For more information on landlord testing, Call us on 020 8894 1799
