Storage

In most homes a storage battery will be the best solution to save the power generated from the sun for use at night. Our survey will enable us to identify the right size battery for your home.

The Enphase Solar Battery is our preferred battery and allows us to link into a fully Enphase solar platform. It uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) which is cobalt free and drastically reduces the risk of thermal run away and thus the risk of a fire. They also last much longer than Lithium-Ion batteries, which most other storage batteries use.

These batteries have a 15-year warranty.

Exporting Energy

Depending on your location the power you generate during the day can be sold to the grid.

Utility companies such as Octopus Energy offer an Agile tariff that allows you to sell surplus energy to the grid at certain peak day times during the day as well as the ability to purchase very cheap energy at night, that can be used to top up your storage battery or even power your car battery.

As experts in safe electrical installation, we won’t install high voltage DC cables into domestic homes, and equally we do not believe in fitting internal inverter units inside homes, as these generate heat.

Our solution involves installing AC cabling onto the roof to micro inverters connected to each and every panel. These micro-inverters create very little heat and mean the power generated is immediately converted to AC power directly into your home.

The Micro Inverter System also allows us to provide a 25-year warranty on the entire system, and it brings a whole host of other benefits in addition to safety, which are listed opposite.

The failure rate on the micro inverters worldwide is 0.05%. That’s just a 1 in 2000 risk that an inverter will fail in its lifetime. In the unlikely event there is a system failure the manufacturer will inform us and immediately send out a spare part for us to replace, free of charge.
